LED Phototherapy

an essential skin care treatment

Light Emitting Diode (LED) Phototherapy is a non-invasive treatment that targets specific non-thermal light to energise cells which triggers a cascade of bio stimulatory responses. It is scientifically proven for a wide range of indications including skin rejuvenation, acne and pigmentation to wound healing, psoriasis and pain relief.

LED Phototherapy is a safe and pain-free treatment with no downtime or risk of side effects. LED therapy stimulates collagen production, resulting in younger looking skin that appears brighter, smoother and more even toned. It can also stimulate the body’s natural healing processes to reduce inflammation and treat acne. Furthermore, it can help reduce wrinkles, fine lines, age spots and scarring. With regular treatments, you can look forward to a more youthful complexion that glows with health.

How long does it take for LED light therapy to work?

Light therapy starts helping your skin from the very first session, but continued treatments help achieve more lasting results. You may see or feel minor results immediately, but the best results are typically achieved with 2 to 3 sessions a week and monthly maintenance after a course of 12.

What do the LED colours do for the skin?

LED therapy can target any number of skin issues. We use daily red, blue and infrared which is colourless to the human eye. Using these 3 colours we can target the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous layer. Which can work on anything from fine lines and wrinkles too hyperpigmentation.

Who shouldn’t use LED light therapy?

The major contraindications for light therapy are diseases that involve the retina of the eye, such as diabetes, and the use of photosensitizing medications like lithium, melatonin, phenothiazine antipsychotics, and certain antibiotics.

Can you overdo on light therapy?

No! You could use it everyday if you wanted to. LED light therapy is all about recovery. Unlike a lot of other facial treatments there is normally a controlled trauma to the skin to then heal and improve on an issue. With light therapy there is no trauma and many contraindicated people for many other facials can normally have LED.
