Light Light-emitting diode (LED) Phototherapy is a gentle but effective treatment using special lights to boost cell energy and trigger a range of beneficial responses. It is scientifically proven for various concerns including skin rejuvenation, acne and pigmentation, wound healing, psoriasis, etc.
This safe and pain-free treatment has no side effects. It stimulates collagen production, leaving your skin looking younger, brighter, and smoother. LED therapy also aids natural healing, reducing inflammation and treating acne. Plus, it tackles wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, and scarring. Regular sessions promise a radiant, youthful complexion.
What is it?
LED Phototherapy harnesses special lights, including red, blue, and invisible infrared, to stimulate the generation of skin-firming enzymes, reduce inflammation, and address various skin concerns. At The SHAPINS Clinic, we use advanced LED light beds with red, blue, and infrared lights targeting specific skin conditions.
How does it work?
LED lights penetrate different layers of the skin – epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous layers – to target specific concerns. The lights boost cell energy, promoting essential production and natural healing. The treatment is tailored to individual needs, ensuring optimal results with minimal discomfort.

How long does it take for LED light therapy to work?
Light therapy starts helping your skin from the very first session, but continued treatments help achieve more lasting results. You may see or feel minor results immediately, but the best results are typically achieved with 2 to 3 sessions a week and monthly maintenance after a course of 12.
What do the LED colours do for the skin?
LED therapy can target any number of skin issues. We use three light colours: red, blue, and invisible infrared. These lights go deep into your skin’s layers – epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous. That means they can deal with everything from pesky fine lines and wrinkles to those tricky hyperpigmentation spots. It’s like a targeted treatment that covers all the bases for healthier, happier skin.
Who shouldn’t use LED light therapy?
Light therapy might not be suitable for everyone. It’s not recommended for people with eye conditions like diabetes or if you’re taking certain medications that make your skin sensitive to light. Medications like lithium, melatonin, some antipsychotics, and certain antibiotics fall into this category. Always check with your doctor if you have any concerns about whether light therapy is right for you.
Can you overdo on light therapy?
Absolutely! You can use LED light therapy every day if you want to. This therapy is all about recovery. Unlike a lot of other facial treatments, there is normally a controlled trauma to the skin to then heal and improve on an issue, LED therapy doesn’t cause any trauma. This makes it suitable for many people who might be restricted from other facials.
